Ryūsen (龍泉) — Mature Naturalistic Bonsai (Chuhin Size)
Ryūsen (龍泉), meaning “Dragon Spring,” is a mature bonsai with a powerful trunk, broad base and highly developed branch structure. The tree has a strong naturalistic presence, with heavy primary branches, visible taper and an open canopy that gives the composition depth from every angle.
This tree has already passed its main recovery phase and is now responding strongly with fresh growth. At this stage, we are intentionally allowing larger new foliage to develop so the tree can rebuild energy and strengthen its branch structure before the next stage of refinement.
The next phase will focus on selective pruning and foliage reduction, encouraging tighter growth, shorter internodes and progressively smaller leaves. This is an important part of the refinement process and will gradually bring the canopy into a more compact and mature bonsai form.
