Shōfū (松風), meaning “Pine Wind,” is a Podocarpus bonsai named for the graceful upward movement of its trunk and the wind-swept rhythm of its trained foliage pads. At least four years old, this Dai-size tree has a clear informal-upright character with a gently curving trunk and a compact apex.

Careful wiring establishes layered branch movement across the blue-green evergreen foliage, while the long trunk line leaves open space around the canopy and gives the composition a light, elevated character. It is presented in a rectangular training pot for continued development.
